About Laurie
I'm interested in helping students find a better conversation with their bodies. I have a unique background in theatre, dance, athletics, and (of course) yoga! I believe everybody can find a deeper peace within themselves through mindful movement. So I'm all about helping people find access to the present moment, feel more at ease in the mind, and be able to take these skills off the mat and into their day to day!
I love watching students face a problem and find a solution. I aim to create a safe environment for my students to explore the challenges presented through yoga postures. I most enjoy when students leave the mat with a sense of calm and a sense of readiness to move forward in their day. It's incredibly rewarding!
I got started teaching by training actors in further understanding their bodies and movement awareness. This process has always included yoga sequencing, which is how I became more passionate as a yoga instructor.
I have an RYT 200 hour certification from Zen Yoga Garage
I have an MFA in Acting with an emphasis in physical training
I have a BA in drama and dance
