About Madalena
I am a Yoga Instructor/Studio Manager who just moved from NYC to Aspen, CO.
I am a reliable yoga teacher across 5 different YTTP studio locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, leading class for Vinyasa flow, traditional hot (Bikram), and hot Vinyasa disciplines for up to 50 clients per class.
I also provide kids yoga classes and private.
A friend once told me that I was about to embark in a journey different from everything I was doing. I found that ridiculous. But the Universe has a funny way to put you in the right path.
My friend told me I was going to start teaching, helping and inspire others. That journey came true. Yoga saved me and now I have found my purpose.
My very first home and community was the famous and popular NYC studio Yoga To The People. I first did the Traditional Hot Yoga training and the necessary apprenticeship which was a total of 25 classes, 50 students per class. I started teaching, taking care of the opening&closing, and overall managing of the studio.
Afterwards I enrolled in the Vinyasa Teacher Training and whislt in the training, I was asked to lead my very first solo class.
I also started focusing in kids yoga classes and led my first class in Portugal - Europe to a total of 30 kids 3yo & 4yo. It’s definitely something I want to continue developing.

With a new student it’s necessary to know if it’s his/her first time, know if they have any injuries and tell them to listen to their body, but above all, to have fun!
I’ve been fortunate to teach, help and inspire students from all over the world, experienced and the ones new to the practice, old and young, skinny and strong.
Make sure your teacher is one who enjoys what he does. Who leaves the ego by the door to help YOU!

We are excited to leave the busy city that never sleeps- NYC (where I lived for 6 years), to live in the beautiful community Aspen.
