About Andrew
With 13 years of tutoring experience and over 7000 hours of teaching both in the UK and overseas, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my students. I hold a Master’s degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University, specialising in chemical engineering, and a Master’s in Climate Change from the University of East Anglia (UEA). Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with students of varying abilities, with a particular focus on high achievers. My teaching repertoire includes subject support, university admissions preparation, and home-schooling. My students consistently achieve top marks in their exams and secure places at the UK’s most prestigious universities. Each year, I mentor at least six students for Oxbridge Engineering Admissions, making me highly familiar with the papers and the demands of the application process. My tutoring approach is inspired by the Oxbridge tutorial system, emphasising deep understanding and critical thinking. In addition to academic tutoring, I assist my students with crafting compelling personal statements, ensuring they avoid common pitfalls and effectively demonstrate their enthusiasm and capabilities. My lessons are designed to help students articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently, a skill crucial for university interviews. For those preparing for interviews, I offer specialised sessions that tackle complex problems and typical interview questions. My goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in these high-stakes situations.
