About Aasim
One of the most critical values that I have learned through my years as a tutor is the ability to listen. Oftentimes, in a tutor/tutee relationship, the instructor can be quite overbearing and dismissive. I greatly value the thoughts and concerns of all the students I work with, treating their opinions as a priority. Regarding my qualifications, I scored a 36 on the ACT during high school. I believe that I can provide expertise in both the content of this exam, as well as in test-taking strategies. As for college admissions, I was fortunate to receive acceptances from many top-tier institutions and programs, including Ivy Leagues. I chose to attend the 8-year BS/MD program at the University of Rochester
Through high school, I captained my school’s robotics team, positioning myself in a role as a leader and teacher. I frequently tutored junior members on best practices in both technical duties and working within a team environment. This past summer, I assisted in founding another robotics team in Dallas, which involved training middle and high school students. I greatly enjoy getting to know all of the students that I work with and helping them to succeed.
I am a junior biomedical engineering student at the University of Rochester. I am also a student in the Rochester Early Medical Scholars (REMS) combined degree BS/MD program, which grants me conditional acceptance to the University of Rochester School of Medicine. I completed my high school education as valedictorian of my class.
