About Miranda
Hi! I'm Miranda, a recent Bristol University graduate in Economics and Philosophy. I went to school in London and understand well how intimidating and competitive the exam process can be! Having just finished higher education, I am well practiced in maths (primarily) but also in reading and writing skills. I can provide tutoring help in these areas for children up to the age of 18.
I have experience teaching maths, english and sports. In my final years of school I took part in a maths tutoring programme involving one-on-one tutoring for children aged 11 to 14. Recently, I have taught English to children ages 6 to 12 in Cyprus.
I believe that the secret to successful tutoring is strong engagement. This means sessions need to be interactive and communicative - not just answering and checking questions. When you create an environment where tutees are free to ask whatever they need, feel confident in what they don't know as well as what they do, problems are solved quickly and efficiently, and time really does fly by! I try to take this encouraging attitude in all my sessions, in order to build confidence and see results.

In my final years of school I took part in a maths tutoring programme involving one-on-one tutoring for children aged 11 to 14. I also attained a Sports teaching qualification (Sports Leaders UK level 2), and coached netball. After school I spent one year teaching skiing to children ages 2 to 15 (both individually and in groups up to 10). I have a Level 1 and Level 2 APSI ski instructing qualification which required a teaching theory and physical assessment. Recently, I have taught English to children ages 6 to 12 in Cyprus.
