About JoAnne
I complete a beginning assessment according to their grade level to see what is standing out that the did needs. I also like to be in touch with the child's teacher to see what they feel is needed
I enjoy being given the chance to get to know the child because of working individually or with a small group. It gives me the chance to see what helps that child learn the specific concept.
I was a director of a daycare for 10 years until my kids were older. In that time I not only worked administration. I taught kindergarten and created the curriculum. I also tutored the school age children when they returned from school amd in the summer.
I then decided to substitute teach for a couple of years and then eventually became a teacher assistant. I worked one on one with several students that had disabilities. Last year I started subbing again and ended up subbing all year for an Intensive Intermediate classroom. I am now a SPED teacher for third and fourth graders.

I will access the child to see rhe skill level they are at in the subject or subjects needed. I will also take the time to get to know the child to see what the child's likes and dislikes are and that will help me in knowing how to work with the child to keep their attention.
