About Elizabeth
I am a licensed foster parent, I have been a teacher for 8 years now. I have four kids of my own. (ages: 15,12, 7, and 3.)I have lived in three states, traveled the world, and thrive in diverse environments. I am certified K-8 but 6th,7th, and 8th grade math and art specifically. The past four years I have been teaching k-5, but also coach 6-8 grade track. I love kids and watching them grow and develop. I work well with others and on my own. This is my first time being an official tutor, but I have helped many others in the past for friends and family.
I make even math comprehendible from a students perspective and life for that matter. I feel it's important for the student to understand why they are learning something and where they will use it throughout their lifetime.
I loved working at a day are in college, so I changed my degree to teaching rather than business finance with a minor in marketing.
Teachers cert K-8 with endorsements in Math and Art, 8 years of teaching experience, daycare work for three years

Make sure you can easily communicate with them and feel safe and comfortable. If it's awkward with no clear line of communication, it will be challenging to be successful. Communication is key to success.
I'm currently in my masters, have four kids, and doing a mural in my town on racial equality.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Maybe get a baseline of likes and dislikes. I find especially with math that using analogies of interests makes the learning more relatable and easily understood.
