About Kai

Why I tutor: I love understanding how the world works, the rules and patterns it follows, and how we can see the world differently through this lens. I tutor to share this with others.

My approach: Varies depending on the student's style. I focus on defining what the student is not understanding or doesn't know and building around that to develop a solid understanding. Question-based learning; curiosity is encouraged.

Credentials: I had a GPA of 3.9 in high school and I'm currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester with a GPA of 3.9. I have two years of tutoring experience. LinkedIn: (concealed information)

I always found the content interesting, and I wanted to share that with others.

I had a GPA of 3.9 in high school, with As in all STEM subjects. I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Rochester with a GPA of 3.9 I also have 2 years of teaching experience from launching my own tutoring business in high school.

About the lesson

We would go over their background in the subject. I'd try to gauge how much they understand, define exactly what they don't understand, and find the teaching style that works best for them.

From students who typically do well but just got caught off-guard in an exam and need help reviewing to students who are insecure about their academic capabilities. Whatever your background, we'll figure out the best way forward :)

I recently explained what the z-axis is to my brother and he was completely mindblown (he's 11). I love those moments when it's like "oh wow, that's actually useful." Yes, it's actually (almost) ALL useful! :)

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make sure you have a specific question. Oftentimes, students will have questions that when spoken out loud they can answer for themselves. Instead of "I'm stuck" try "I tried x, but it didn't work, is there another way or did I make a mistake?"
