About Kyla

Math is my favorite subject but for most people it isn't. What I love about my work is helping the younger students succeed in math by introducing more algorithms and strategies that are not taught by all teachers. Students will develop a better understanding when they have different options to solve problems. I'll love for your student to love math just like me .

Growth Mindset:

Failing does not make you a failure! You are able to always learn and use more strategies to achieve your goals.

I have been interested in teaching since I was asked “what do you want to be when you grow up” in Pre-Kindergarten.

Since the working age I have been working with students of ages infants-13 years.

I am in school pursing a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and I have my Child Development Association certification

About the lesson

First, I like to get the know the student and their interests, activities , etc. Build a relationship with student

Next, I would talk with them about school

“Do you like school?”

“How do you feel about math?”

Then, I would find out their learning style and look at examples of their work

Lastly, I would find a way best to help the student succeed. Talk with parent or guardian on how we should move forward with the tutoring process.

Ages

1-13 years old in all subjects of learning

Do I understand what I am being taught?

Am I using a good study system?

Am I taking advantage of my notes?

Do I research ( using khan academy, Photomath, etc) to help me out ?

Details

The first lesson will be a free online introduction where I will meet student and family. In this introduction I will learn the student’s education background basics, study habits, learning style, and any other information that wants to be shared.

Pricing:

Pre- Kindergarten- $10 an hour

Kindergarten to Second Grade- $12 an hour

Third Grade to Fifth Grade- $15 an hour
