About Elan

I try to not only help students perform better in math, but give them a real passion for it. Many of my stduents have felt more excited after tutoring due to their significant improvements and feeling that they can be great at math.

I enjoy seeing the progress of my students. The confidence and passion that a student can make from tutoring can not only carry on to their math future, but give them confidence that any task that may seem impossible is possible with hard work and consistency.

I have always had a big passion for math. The ability and opportunity to give others this passion is what really excites me. Seeing students improve and turn a weakness into a strength is why I tutor.

I have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics coupled with my Masters in Mathematics. I have been teaching high school math for two years now. I have been tutoring math for over five years.

About the lesson

I like to spend the first session by understanding both the students' needs and the best way to teach them effectively. Once this is established and the student begins to improve, the student typically becomes more excited to learn and performance increases dramatically.

I have worked mostly with high school students teaching and tutoring all levels of high school math. I have also tutored college students in College Algebra, Calc I,II, and III.

I am currently teaching an SAT math course and I had a student come up to me and show me an SAT he took. His previous math score was 440 and after just a single one hour session, his score had improved to 520. It is now over 600 and he feels confident about his mathematical prowess.

I charge $50 per hour plus half rate ($25 per hour) for travel both to and from the students location.
