About Michael

In my previous experience, I have bworked as a teaching assistant and a volunteer tutor at Essex County College. I have also tutored upward bound high school students at Rutgers University. Subject I have tutored before include various toppics in Mathematics which include trigonometry, pre-calculus, algebra and so on, physics and basic chemistry. During my time as a teaching assistant, I taught high school students and first year college students pre-calculus and college algebra. My roles as a teaching assistant included working with the professor to ensure that I taught the students during class time and when the professor was not around, created private and group tutoring sessions for students who were struggling to learn the subject and graded students as well as reviewed with them to check in on their prograss in the class. The greatest thing about being able to tutor students is my ability to break down complex math concepts into simpler concepts for students. As a teacher ot tutor, it is important to adjust to a student's metjhod of learning as well as finding the best methods of teaching students. More so, I am able to provode various tecahing resouces for students depending on which subject that I'm teaching.

Additionally, as an Electrical Engineer, I have taken advanced mathematics classes up to linear algebra. Within my major, I have continued to utilize fundamental mathematics soncepts which is ideal for every student that sudies mathematics, In addtion to my math skills, I have knowledge in programming which include coding in Java, C++ and Python and so on.

The best thing about tutoring students is the ability to be patient with them and give them a chance to figure out and learn for themselves even while being tutored. Once they have figured it out it gives me a sense of accomplishment however, even if they are struggling, it always feels goods to help them along the way until they get it.

I started teaching at Essex County College as a teaching assistant and a Tutor and it introduced me into the world of teaching others. Ever since starting out as a teaching assistant, I have enjoyed teaching and this allowed me to further progress in to volunteering to teach other students and give back to other students. After teaching at Essex County College, I got involved with teaching upward bound high school kids and this gave me extrs experience to teach a different demographic of students at any level of high school.

I majored in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University and within my major, I took various mathematics classes starting from the most basic math to linear algebra. Regardless of my math background and taking advanced math courses, I still retain and utilize fundamental math concepts within my major.

About the lesson

My process for working with students is to first get to know them and understand where they are in the specific topic area depending on the subject and what they understand about that subject area they have been taught so far.

My next step is to ask them about any resources they have been provided with or used in their learning.

Then my next step is to describe to them my process of teaching and understand their process of learning in order to set up a strategic way that we can both use to get the best and most effective learning.

In addition, make sure to review past topics that were learned to make sure the student knows the subject before moving onto the next topic.

Students that I have worked with in the past include high school students in any grade and freshmen and sophomore students. I have also worked with adults. Regardless of the students I have worked witI am open to teaching any range of students including younger kids and kids in any grade of college.

I would tell the student to test the waters with different tutors until they find the tutor that has a teaching style that best suits them and their learning style. In addition to a lso make sure the teacher knows his stuff in his area of expertise.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students would think about question involving resources they can use to learn, questions about the subject if they are struggling in learning the subject, questions about if they are can get more hours of tutoring or if they need help in specific subject questions.

My pricing system varies depending on the situation. This can vary based off subject that I'm tutoring, tansportation and distance, hours of tutoring, medium of tutoring whther online or in-person, however, it may not be limited to these factors. Price may or may not be negotiable but I am open to suggesstions.
