About Victoria

I am a Collaborative Teacher who have handled both General Education Students and Special Education students in a collaborative setting teaching Algebra 1-3. I am skilled to break-down a lesson in a way that a student would understand it more. I am experienced enough to know different strategies to teach Math depending on the learning modality of the student. I can speak both English and Tagalog language. I was awarded the Educator of the Year back in 2015 by the Rotary and was given a Certificate of Excellence on Differentiating Instruction by my school way back 2009.

What I like about being a teacher is that I am given the opportunity to see students succeed not only in their academics but behaviorally and functionally as well inside the classroom and in the outside world. My work enables me to be an instrument who makes students self-directed and become innovators in their own right. I provide them the opportunity to collaborate with their peers to come up with new ideas to help this world become more efficient. And last, what I like about what I do is that I don’t only teach academics but teach my students how to empathize with the feelings of other people making them reflective of their actions towards others.

Bulk of my experience is teaching high school students for 8 years, specifically the subject Math. I've also taught elementary for 5 years being exposed to all core subjects.

About the lesson

I would always start by getting to know my learning. Building rapport is very improtant. Then I would move on to assessing the skills of the students. During the lesson, I will access prior knowledge first and start with important terms the student has sto know to be able to progress in the lesson.

Both Gen Ed and SPED students.
