About Adam

I hope to help students achieve thier goals by providing them with thought provoking practice problems and encouragement. I have been tutoring for a little over 4 years and have experience as a teacher's assistant for differential equations at my university.

Tutoring allows me to use math and science, subjects that I enjoyed learning. I find helping others with these subjects to be very rewarding and I love doing it.

Helping my sister with her math homework, I really enjoyed helping her learn the content and it was a fun way to review.

I am currently a senior at Kettering University, and have worked as a student instructor (like a TA) for differential equations, multivariate calculus, Calc 1 and Physics E&M. I have been tutoring for a little over 2 years.

About the lesson

I ask for the material that they are struggling with in advance so that I can make practice problems / create lessons that target the material they are struggling with. I then walk the student though a problem addressing questions along the way and then have them do a couple on their own. I try to use visuals to help students better understand the material and I do my best to challenge them with relevant, thought provoking questions that help them better understand the material.

High school and college, I haven't worked with anyone who needed lots of help, mostly average students looking for an extra push.

Come prepared, giving me advance notice on issue they are having helps me assist students more effectively. Have a positive attitude, it's hard to learn if you "hate" the subject or think you can't improve.
