I am a first year student at the University of Minnesota Duluth double majoring in Statistics and Mathematics minoring in chemistry.

I have taken and recieved excellent marks in the following courses: algebra, geometry, algebra II, trigonomotry, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, college Calculus II, college Intro to Probability and Statistics I, and college Differntial Equations and Linear Algebra.

I am passionate about math and stats. My family and friends have always told me that I am good at helping them with their questions, which inspired me to look into tutoring.

My favorite feeling is watching a student successfully execute a difficult problem with no assistance after I have helped them to understand the concept.

I have not officially had training to become a tutor. However, I have had lots of experience and math and a bit in chemistry as well (all outlined in my bio).

I have been helping my three siblings with their homework since high school. I have assisted them with middle school math, algebra, geometry, pre calculus, calculus, and chemistry.

Based on my experience, I am confident that I can currently assist students from elementary to high school age in the following subjects: basic mathematics (elementary and middle school), algebra, geometry, AP calculus AB, AP calculus BC, and high school chemistry.

About the lesson

I would ask that the student brings all materials, including class handouts, homework, textbooks, etc. to the session for convenience.

It would be to our advantage if the student arrives with specific problems and questions ready to go so that we have somewhere to begin, and then I will be happy to assist with issues that arise as we work.

Typically, I will read the question or problem and work through it on my own first. Once I have done so, I will do the problem again, walking the student through each and every step, ensuring they understand my process. When I have completed my explanation, I "rewrite" the question with different numbers but the same concept and have the student work through it on their own, and then check the answer. If they understand, we will move on, and if not, we will continue to work through the problem.

I also will ask that the student does not have their cell phone out while I assist them as it is distracting to both of us.
