About Braden
I am a recent M.S. Economics graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and recieved my B.S. in Economics and History from The Ohio State University. During my time at both institutions, I tutored undergraduate students 15-20 hours a week in economic theory while serving as a teaching assistant for introductory microeconomics. Additionally, I worked as a mentor for 10 undergraduate students, holding weekly 1-1 meetings and teaching a leadership development seminar. I am comfortable working with students of all ages and enjoy making math and economics easy to understand.
Helping students understand material is such a gratifying experience! I really enjoy making every student feel comfortable in subject and confident in their own abilities.

I like to spend the first lesson identifying a student's learning style (visual, hands-on, written, verbal, etc.) and areas where the student needs extra practice. My biggest goal is to instill confidence by helping a student think about problems in a way that best suits them.
I have mainly worked with college aged students (18-22) in a tutoring capacity. During my first few summers at Ohio State, I worked as a camp counselor (and later supervisor), so I am also experienced interacting with kids 6 and older.
Find a tutor that you think you'll be comfortable interacting with and asking questions when you're unsure. In my experience, the majority of the learning process comes from asking additional questions after material has been explained.
Just moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend and rescued a pup from a nearby animal shelter!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why am I struggling with the current material? (difficult to visualize, terminology is confusing, hard to connect to real world)
What is your reason for wanting to learn the subject better? (pass a class, improve for a test, develop a deeper understanding of the material)
What kind of plan do you have to practice the material outside of tutoring sessions?
