About Adriana

I am huge about relationship building with my students. I believe that having a strong, positive relationship with students allows them to grow limitlessly academically. I really enjoy getting to know my students and cultivating a positive, safe learning environment for them. I have 4 years of teaching experience, and therefore have many academic resources, especially for those in elementary school!

I enjoy getting to know my students and their families! Just as much, I enjoy watching my students learn and grow, and gain confidence in themselves academically and in who they are as a person.

I've always loved kids, and I think empowering youth is extremely important these days.

I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan, and I have taught for 4 years in Crown Heights. I have 3 years of 2nd grade math and literacy instruction experience, and 1 year of 4th grade math and literacy instruction experience. All 4 years I taught a class of around 30 students, including students with IEPs.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I first prioritize building a relationship, as I believe this will yield the best academic results down the road. I really enjoy getting to know my students and cultivating a positive, safe learning environment for them. I will ask them questions about themselves, school, and how they feel about learning. Once trust is established, we will get started on the academics!

I have worked with all types of students aged 5-11. I have worked with students who have learning and/or behavioral struggles. I have worked with students who have mandated IEPs (individual education plans).
