About Robert

I've been a Lecturer in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago, and I have an M.A. in Anthropology. My specialization in the historical anthropology of Europe and the Middle East springs from a broad and detailed knowledge of both world history and social-scientific methods of analysis. I teach my students not just the "who," "what," "where," and "when," but also how to identify and analyze the multiple interacting variables that make up the "why" and the "how." Critical engagement of both primary and secondary sources are key to my teaching meathods.

As a Teaching Assistant in graduate school. I was promoted to Lecturer within a year.

I was a Lecturer in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago (2012-2015) and I have an MA in Anthropology, with a focus on historical anthropology.

Ask them what precisely they need help with, then find relevant material. I schedule a follow-up discussion session for after the student has read the material. Discussion topics include evaluating sources and discussing possible causative links.

College students from first to fourth year.

Find someone who will delve into the sources with you, and find other sources to put those sources in context.

The Season 2 finale of "Mr. Robot." No spoilers, but it's relevant from a social science perspective.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly do you need help with? How do you think I can best address those needs given the skill set that I have?
