About Roy Alvin
Hi, I’m Roy, a PhD researcher in Materials Engineering with background in Chemical Engineering, university teaching, and research/statistical consultancy.
I know that subjects like Math, Statistics, Data Analysis, and Research Methods can feel overwhelming at first. My role is to make these topics clearer, more manageable, and easier to apply. Instead of simply giving answers, I help students understand the logic behind the concept so they can solve problems with more confidence.
I have taught university students and supported researchers, clinicians, and professionals with assignments, research proposals, data analysis, thesis work, manuscripts, and academic writing. This experience helps me connect lessons with real academic and professional applications, not just textbook theory.
My teaching style is patient, practical, and student-focused. I encourage questions, explain ideas step by step, and adjust each lesson to the student’s level and goals. Whether you are preparing for an exam, working on an assignment, analyzing data, or developing a research project, I can help you build confidence and move forward with a clearer plan.

My lessons are practical, structured and tailored to each student’s goals. With my background as a PhD researcher, former university lecturer, chemical engineer and research/statistics consultant, I help students understand complex topics by breaking them down into clear, manageable steps.
I can support students in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Statistics, Research Methods, Data Analysis or research project development. Lessons can focus on exam preparation, assignments, laboratory reports, research proposals, methodology, data analysis plans, interpretation of results or manuscript preparation.
Students are welcome to bring lecture notes, assessment tasks, datasets, draft reports or specific questions. My teaching style is patient, supportive and practical, with the goal of helping students learn faster, think more clearly and build confidence in applying concepts independently.
