About Sonya
Sonya Freeman graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Spanish and Biology. She is currently finishing her fourth year in medical school and will graduate with her MD in May. Sonya has been published as an author of several scientific publications as well as book publications in expository and creative writing. She loves writing very much and has continued to pursue it throughout her medical school training. She is skilled at editing and can help students to improve their writing skills and reading comprehension. She has significant child care experience from working as a babysitter, a summer camp counselor, and a medical student on her pediatrics rotation.

The beginning of the process involves discussing the primary interests and goals for the sessions with both students and parents. In this way, we will be able to map out a long term plan to make sure we are staying on task and moving towards specified successes. Most of our work will consist of learning to improve writing skills, including organization of an essay, clear articulation of concepts, and consistent editing of sentence structure and grammar.
