About Sheridan
I have instructed young people for four years with an emphasis on public speaking & communications. I believe that instructors should exercise patience & affirmative speech--every student longs to feel confident, competent, and cared for. It is my mission to empower young people, leveraging my experience as a competitive public speaker, classroom instructor, and private tutor.
I was a competitive public speaker for a number of years and received various titles and accolades during my career. When I concluded my years of competition, I offered public speaking coaching, which evolved into classroom instruction.
I've been a public speaking instructor for four years, offering my services at 6 private schools. I also provided at home instruction for various children and families.

It is important to form familiarity and trust with any new student. It can be intimidating to work with an instructor/tutor--nobody likes to feel evaluated! When working with a new student, I try to be observant & perceptive, gauging their personality and learning style. Most importantly, I ask many questions to let the student know that they are interesting and I am interested.
I have offered instruction to 4th graders (the youngest) up to seniors in high school (the oldest).
Make sure that you are able to form a bond & connection with your instructor! You should feel both comfortable and motivated about your education. A good instructor should be able to instill those sentiments within you.
