About Beau
I am from North Carolina, where I was an actor, photographer, and producer for last 7 years. In June of 2019, I left my full-time position at McKinney (an advertising agency in Durham), to come to New York and focus on acting.
I have studied Shakespeare in London, at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Elon University. Outside of my major, I like taking classes on Rhetoric and Philosophy (ie Nietzche & Buber).
In tuturing, the best part is learning with the student. I am a "grammar nerd," and love literature, but there are always new questions to ask. I enjoy finding those questions, and I encourage my students to enjoy their search.
This is all very lofty for a bio. The most important thing I want to say is that students have tutors for all sorts of reasons. What a tutor needs to be, above all else, is patient and attentive. I strive to be those things.

I first ask the student or parent if they have a preferred way of meeting with a new tutor.
If it's up to me, I always like to visit with the student for a 45 minute or hour session, to hear about what they are currently learning. I always like to meet with them in the location at which I'd be tutoring them.
On the other hand, this isn't the best process for all students. Sometimes, if the student has a hobby or interest, it could be helpful to do that task with the student, and get acquainted.
Look for a teacher who is able to help you think for yourself, and truly understand why the right answer is right.

$80 per hour session.
For the months of July and August of 2019, I am discounting my price to $40/hr, as I am new to the area.
Travel costs must be reimbursed, for clients outside the Greater New York City area.
