About Jillian
I am MA licensed PreK to 8th Special Education teacher. Currently working in a MA private school with both Special Education and General Education students. I hold a bachelors degree in Special Education, SEI (Sheltered English Immerision) endorsement and concentrations in both Mathematics and History. I am confident in my abilities to deliver quality lessons and educational support to any students from PreK to 8th grade. My current role as classroom teacher includes delivering traditonal lessons as well as nature based and project based learning.
I am a MA licensed Special Educator. I hold a bachelors in Special Education with concentrations in both mathematics and history. I also hold a valid SEI (sheltered english immersion) endorsement.
I currently work as a 1st/2nd grade mixed level teacher at a private school in Northborough. In this position I develop traditonal lessons as well as project and nature based lessons.
Prior to this teaching position I worked for seven years at a non-profit nature based educational program. I started as junior counselor and ended my time there as co-director of summer programming.
I have student/substitute taught for various grade levels including: preschool, 1st grade, 6th grade and 7th grade,

My typical process for working with a new student begins with setting learning goals. These will be specific and measureable objectives that are achievable within the required timeline. From there, I look to the MA educational standards that best meet these goals. I also like to assess my students for their preferred learning style (ie: hands on, verbal linguistic, visual learner etc.). I find the most effective instruction is individualized to each learner.
