About Jarred

We are two Juniors who excel in English. We have been in AP English Language and have taken three years of Creative Writing. We have been tutoring since we were in 8th grade, and we are looking forward to working with individuals to develop their analyzation, expository, creative, and essay writing. We both have work published, and have excellent grades throughout high school. We also have won many writing contests in our Creative and Performing Arts school.

I enjoy helping out students and seeing the smile on their faces when they are able to express themselves through their words. By enabling growth in students, they are able to flourish and use the skills that they have aquired in order to achieve new levels of articulacy that sets them apart from others.

I started teaching as I was constantly asked by my peers how to improve their writing. Eventually, I stayed after school and helped my classmates with their writing for pay.

I have been taught how to tutor in order to tutor my peers and middle schoolers. I have undergone training through three English teachers.

About the lesson

I will first evaluate what the need is, and formulate a plan that will benefit the student with not only what they need to learn, but with what will prepare them to excel in the subject that they are having difficulty with.

I have worked with students of all ethnic backgrounds and language barriers including Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish.

Look for someone who is willing to take their time and add extra effort into teaching you. Teachers that strive to overteach what they paycheck gives them are teachers that desire to better their students.

I am fond of when I was thanked by an 8th grader after he won a contest in which he was to write a poem about truth. I tutored him on how to utilize different types of sound devices to add depth to his piece, and he was able to win first place.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should ask themselves: what do I not understand? How can I apply what I learned to my work? What do I need most help on and what can I improve?
