About Chatan
With over 10 years of English turtoring experience, I have the keys to helping your child enjoy English. Your child will grasp essential grammar skills enabling them to ace any essay or composition. As a Broadcast Journalism major, I have tutored over 30 students while in college. In addition, I have helped 5 gratuate students with reports and presentations which encouraged them to finish their degrees strong. Furthermore, I have been a special needs one on one tutor helping over 20 children pass and gratuate.
As the oldest of 5, teaching has been a second nature for me. All throughout my education, I have been the tutor or friend who helps anyone in need. I get satisfaction in knowing my students or friends accomplish their learning goals.
I have obtained a Broadcast Communications degree from Hampton University. I was a student tutor as a member of the Student Support Services Association. There, I won many awards for helping students raise their grades and pass various entrance exams. As an undergraduate, I have tutored 5 aspiring graduate students with their GRE tests.

First, I like to evaluate what is needed from me. I usually look at past reports or essays students have written. Then, I meet the child or adult where they are to try to understand them. Many tutors are concerned about getting the job done. I take pride in knowing that my students truly understand basic grammar concepts in order to maintain the knowledge for future assignments. The main goal is to be able to do the work indefinitely without guidance.
I have worked with various types of students such as the following: special needs, K-12, undergraduates, and graduates.
