About Lee
I'm fairly chill! In my experience, I always loved those chill teachers who helped you along but weren't strict or overbearing. I also like to dive deep into what we're doing. Writing can open one's mind to an analytical perspective, which applies to the real world more than you would believe.
Though I'm going to school for film, I've always had a need to write. Creating worlds and dialogue from my own head amazes me, and is something I've taken pride in since I was young. I want to pass that feeling onto others while having a good time as well.
I have taken several writing courses in my life, such as AP Language and AP Literature. I am going to school to minor in creative writing, with an accompanying major in film. This year I'll be doing a workshop with Stephanie Land, whose memoir will has a Netflix adaption in the works.

First, I ask them to provide me with a piece of past writing or offer a short prompt. I get a glimpse at their style and originality. Next, I like to ask them what phrases and words they use often in their writing. Then, we'll work on grammar, spelling, structure, and flow, in that order. Depending on the piece, analytical devices may be necessary to take their writing to a deeper level.
Find someone humorous! Humor is essential to making things fun. Those who are not as passionate about writing may need an extra boost in morale to tackle an extensive essay. Luckily, humor is something I take pride in!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions to ask yourself include: What do I want to gain out of each session? What do I like from this subject? What do I dislike from this subject? These will ensure the tutor is aware of what makes a good session and what might turn into a tough day. They can plan accordingly and make sure those rougher sessions full of dislikes have a happy ending!
