About Ashley

I have always been complimented on my happy, energetic personality and ability to make any student comfortable and at ease. I am very sensitive to a student's demeanor and approach to learning and can easily adapt my teaching style to fit their needs. I am very creative and have grown up with a diverse education in the arts--communication and graphic design, painting and fine arts, creative writing, dance, and filmmaking. I am extremely passionate about communication; I believe learning the skills to communicate in every way possible—is essential, because most aspects of daily life depend on interaction with others. I am proficient at Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and have experience with AfterEffects and Premiere. I am additionally very invested in writing, as I believe word and image go hand-in-hand. I also have had a focus in studies on psychology, personal therapy, and mental well-being.

I will be able to help your student by working with them holistically, approaching them with the intent on improving their mental well-being as well as making a positive, creative learning environment.

I most enjoy seeing that expression of awe and recognition on a child's face when they understand something they've been struggling with. I've worked with many kids of different ages, and the expression is always the same amazing feeling.

I believe I have a diverse, creative background that has served me well in my work experience, particularly in my positivity and creative problem-solving. Throughout my marketing internship last summer at Cheekwood Gardens, I’ve faced countless situations that require adapting quickly and thinking creatively, all the while maintaining a bright smile. Positivity is the key to transforming any challenge, and I like to present my best foot forward--something I will definitely do in a role aiding Projects/Events planning for the interest groups. My background in leadership has also trained me to be able to juggle multiple projects at once while working empathetically with a team.
