I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design, so I spent much of my time in college writing and editing papers. Additionally, I worked in an award-winning newsroom in college making copy edits and reviewing student submissions.

I like to go through a small introduction and find a natural way to break the ice, followed by a few questions to pinpoint the actual root of why the student needs help. Then, we move forward based on my assessment of the most rudimentary pain points.
Make sure you feel comfortable with whomever you choose! If you don't feel like you can ask questions without judgment, you'll never be able to learn.
