About Sarah

I have been passionate about the English language since I was a child. My two favorite toys growing up were an English dictionary and a microscope. As I got older I entered and won all the school spelling bees and then made it to the state level of the National Spelling Bee. My love for English Literature and Language only grew as I began participating in theatre, then learning how to combine English and Psychology to create characters on a stage filled with depth and emotion, conveying ideas in understandable ways to a wide range of audiences.

Now, my passion is to help others understand as I do the curious intricacies and nooks/crannies of the English Language and to help alleviate any potential stress involved in completing an assignment.

I just really loved English in its multiple facets of existence; almost like an individual art medium. Additionally I carry the philosophy that one does not fully have full comprehension of a topic until they are able to teach it. Here I am.

About the lesson

1. Find out needs of customer

- What is it that you need help with? What's the time table/deadline look like? How many hours of work and effort do you need on a partictular assignment/project/topic?

2. Based on needs, map out scheduling and cost

- After collecting all data needed, I can then go in and figure out the pricing for my time and effort (both are of primo quality) as well as working with both your and my schedules to find the most efficient way of accomplishing the tasks

3. Get to work!

- Once I have all the information and things plotted out, we can get cracking on assignments/projects/topics/classes/etc. Depending on what service you desire (of those I have listed) I can get started on lesson plans/worksheets/curriculum/etc. From there I stay in communication with you from start to finish and after finish; ensuring that you have full understanding of your content and/or your assignments are completed to your (and your teacher/professor's) liking as well as being pleased as punch with the experience.

Any and all ages of child from 5 to 55. One never quite has enough comprehension, or is able to cover enough topics.

Make sure you aren't looking to hire someone to do your homework. That is a different set of skills. Be ready to do the work it takes to achieve your own knowledge and understanding. It will ultimately be the most rewarding for the both of us within these contexts.

Have nailed down as much as you can exactly what it is you desire of the person you're hiring. The more succinct the request, the easier it is to sit down and put together a workable learning plan.

Be wary of timing. It is better to get a head start on a project/assignment that you know you will struggle with than to attempt figuring out what assignment actually is four hours before it's due. Think of it as the difference between giving an artist 10 minutes to make a masterpiece versus 4 weeks (at least), the quality difference is truly incredible.

Keep in mind the budget you have set aside for your tutor well as for any other costs you have to cover for the month/week. (You do have to eat) This will make conversations for the both of us go a lot smoother.

Be patient. With yourself and with me. English can be a tricky thing. Life is trickier. Things happen and people are people. Nothing and No one is perfect. We'll get through this together, but only with full open-minded participation and patience.

Dont forget to practice Self-Care through this whole process. It can get stressful especially as the due date looms ahead and you have a thousand other things going on in your life at the same time. Take care of you.

Is there anything you are currently doing in your learning that could be a cause of you getting in your own way?

Do you have any ongoing/chronic mental illnesses that hinder your ability to succeed? If so, how are you working to manage/cope with them?
