About Josefine

I have a strong passion for reading and writing, which is what propelled me to pursue a degree in Literature & Writing. Throughout college, I studied many forms of literature and writing, such as English literature, British Literature, and creative and essay writing. I will soon be going into a teaching credential program to become a credentialed high school English teacher.

I am AVID certified and have been a private tutor for the past 3 years throughout the Coachella and Temecula valleys.

I am not yet a teacher, but I have been tutoring for the past 3 years. It started when my niece began to show signs of needing extra help outside of school. I soon felt that, while I was still in college, tutoring was a great way to share my knowledge with younger generations and also helpo them in areas that they were struggling with.

I Studied Literature & Writing and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in both subjects.

I Worked closely with AVID students and am AVID certified.

I have also been tutoring in multiple subjects for the past 3 years. Recently, my tutor focus has been literature and writing. I tutor students ranging from the ages of 13 to 20.

For a year, I worked very closely with 70 high school students in a classroom setting as their classroom tutor

About the lesson

Typically, with new students, I will spend the first meeting assessing the students needs and determining the level of assistance the will require.

From there I can determine whether they need short term assistance to accomplish a short term goal, such as editing an essay, or long term assistance throughout, such as tutoring for the duration of a class.

So far, I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students.

I would advise them that reading and writing is a large part of what we do, so if they would like the help in those areas, be prepared to do just that. Tutors are here to help, and one of the main things I believe to be of upmost importance is that the students has to want to learn.
