About Jonah
I am a credentialed high school Language Arts and History teacher with ESL experience working with students of all ages including adults. I have tutored in various environments, public and private, one-on-one and in small groups.
After working in hugh schools, I have soent the last few years returning to the ESL classroom in Adult Education. I currently teach during weeknight evenings 6-930 at Berkeley Adult School.
I am looking to add tutoring hours from 4-6pm on Wed or Thu and possibly after 6pm on Sunday night.

Whenever I begin working with a new student, I find out about them as an individual first. What are their interests? What do they like about school? What are their difficulties? I make sure they know a little about me to humanize the experience and get comfortable.
Because I have taught students of all ages and worked in various capacities with students from 4th grade on up to 70 year-old retirees, I am accustomed to the various needs of students depending on age and school experience.
