About Gabrielle

I will always strive to give the time and dedication necessary to each of my students. Each lesson will be uniquely structured and taught based on the needs of the individual and their learning style. Reading is fundamental, and while it may sound cliché, it really is true. I am a huge advocate of children learning how to read at a young age and developing their skills the right way. Knowing how to read and/or a lack thereof, follows you from childhood through adulthood.

The thing I most enjoy about tutoring is the fact that I am helping someone better themselves, and that I am providing them with vital skills and tools necessary to succeed not only in school, but also in life.

I have a Master's degree. Most of the knowledge I have acquired has come from my own educational journey. But I have prior substitute teaching and volunteer experience in educational settings as well.

About the lesson

I start by getting a feel for the student and their personality. I need to determine things such as: if the student is quiet or outspoken, or if I have to really try to get them to engage with me or if it comes naturally. Then, I proceed to asking questions to find out their strengths and weaknesses, which will allow me to determine what I need to focus on with them, and what approach I need to take to fulfill their needs and give them the best results possible.

I was a substitute teacher for some time, and I had the opportunity of working with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 10th graders on a consistent basis. It was during this time that I also gained the skills and knowledge of teaching kids with learning disabilities. I also volunteered at a summer reading program for 2 years, where I tutored on every subject in preparation of getting the kids ready for their next grade level. I have worked with kids of all ages and am comfortable doing so.

I offer 3 types of pricing systems, each requiring a certain level of commitment. 3, 6 and 9 month plans are available.

3 month plan is $360. This breaks down to $30 per session. You will have 1 hour sessions per week for a total of 4 sessions per month on the day of your choosing.

3 month plan with sessions 2x a week would be $30 per session, giving 8 sessions per month and would total $720.

6 month plan is $720. This breaks down to $30 per session. You will have 1 hour sessions per week for a total of 4 sessions per month on the day of your choosing.

6 month plan with sessions 2x a week would be $30 per session, giving 8 sessions per month and would total $1440.

9 month plan is $1080. This breaks down to $30 per session. You will have 1 hour sessions per week for a total of 4 sessions per month on the day of your choosing.

9 month plan with sessions 2x a week would be $30 per session, giving 8 sessions per month and would total $2,160.

Tutoring Services are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the week. If at any time during your commitment period you would like to reduce or increase the amount of sessions per week, then we can definitely discuss that.
