About Jodi

I am the founder of Dreamseed Arts Collective which is based in Snohomish, WA. My goal is to develop a team of mentors, teachers, coaches and workshop leaders to host a wide variety of classes here on the land and at public or private locations around the Puget Sound area. For the time being, I am the sole resident, artist and educator, hoping to reach out through this website to reach anyone interested in benefitting from my vast collection of skills and talents.

I have been an artist since the first time I picked up a pencil. Most of my artistic talent was developed in the first 20 years of my life, including my education in college which was in commercial illustration. Drawing was my primary art form until I moved to Seattle and started exploring other media. I have extensive knowledge of figure drawing, in particular, including fashion illustration.

I began painting in college, but didn't do very much until moving to Seattle when I was able to have more space for an art studio. I have painted murals and other two-dimensional pieces, and I have also done painting on objects and wearable items such as shoes. Please view my portfolio for examples, as these are all things I am able and willing to teach.

I also have experience with polymer clay and many jewelry-making techniques, upcycling clothing and other items, and various crafts. I am an accomplished chef as well, so that is another area in which I could offer lessons. Ultimately, I want Dreamseed to become a retreat center where people can come and spend immersive weekends learning and practicing various art forms as well as learning to make useful items with recycled materials. For now, online tutorials are the best way for me to share my knowledge and experience.

One of my passions is inspiring other people to discover ways to express themselves creatively and find their true purpose in life. Another is resourcefulness--using what we already have available in abundance to create the things we need and bring more beauty and inspiration to the world. I feel far more fulfilled by teaching than I do making and selling art. I believe the second half of my life will be spent as a teacher and mentor for other artists, and helping to build community which supports creative people in living their dreams.

Drawing lessons offered by Jodi are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Snohomish. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
