About Lia

I have a lot of experience working in a vast variety of artistic media and styles of art. I have worked with many amazing teachers and mentors as well as received a BA in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz in 2009.

I customize my lessons to suit my students' personal goals and interests so that it's always fun and interesting.

Together we will come up with fun exercises and projects to suit the student's skill level and preferred subject matter

Art comes very naturally to me and I think it is a very important component of our world. I think that the ability for us to express ourselves creatively can be very liberating and empowering as well as therapeutic. It is with great joy that I teach others these skills as well as watch my students evolve in their artistic expression.

I started teaching private art students when I was a sophomore in college. It has always been a fun way to earn some extra money and share my passion with others.

About the lesson

Typically I would ask about the student's past experience with art, or a particular medium, and would love to see examples of their work if they have any. We would also discuss their personal goals for the lessons and any subject matter or projects that they have interest in creating during the lessons.

I would also inquire as to what supplies the student has available and may suggest other supplies to purchase before the lesson.
