About Merritt
With over 15 years of training and experience in the professional art world, I've always had a passion to pass on what I've learned to new artists and also those with experience who seek further direction. I graduated last May 2019 with a BA in Studio Art and will begin work on my Master's degree in the fall of 2020 in pursuit of a college level teaching position for color theory and painting. I've sold my work to collectors in Dallas, TX and also to numerous clients all over the state. In addition, I was a member of Hijole SA at Blue Star here in San Antonio, TX for 2 years where I also sold numerous pieces. I love to teach and look forward to meeting you and your blossoming skill!
Whatching people's hands connect to what they see. To see the joy and excitement when my students achieve something new and seemingly unattainable in the past makes it all worth it. Plus, it's knowledge you rarely lose. You just have to practice.
I interned at the San Antonio Museum of Art in 2017
I was part of the team of 6 who painted phase 2 of the Africa Live! mural at the San Antonio Zoo
Sold work to a collector at 500X in Dallas, TX in 2008
Bachelor's of Art from UTSA - 2019
Currently working toward a Master's degree to become an studio art professor.
