About Andrea

I was a tutor in college, as well as a TA for a local middle school. I enjoy helping others discover their artistic voice.

I've dedicated the last 30 years of my life to art, picking up a BA of Fine Arts from PNCA along the way.

About the lesson

I like to talk with them and evaluate where their skill level is currently, and where they want to take it. If you just want to pick up a few skills for fun, or if you hope to become a professional artist, we will work out a plan to get you there.

All ages, all skill levels. I can teach anyone willing to learn.

Make sure you get along with your teacher, it should feel comfortable and friendly, and you should feel that you are learning more than you could alone.

I recently decided to upload a progress video for one of my web comic pages, which I had also used to help a friend learn about drawing hands. She recognized the areas I had shown her, and it helped her remember the lesson.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you want to do with your art? Are you learning for the sake of learning? Do you hope to feature on magazine covers? Do you want to show at galleries? Do you hope to illustrate stories or make your own graphic novels and manga? Having a solid idea of what you want will help you achieve it.

A one hour persional lesson is $35 per session, which includes a personalized syllabus with lesson plan, reading list, and recommended long- term strategy. Monthly installments are ok.
