About Ruth

I am a Provider for the Step-Up For Students Scholarships, and a Provider for the Gardiner Scholarship. I am a teacher with a Masters Degree. My students are all individuals with different goals. My lessons are focused, fun and positive. I have taught at local Catholic and Orthodox Schools in South Florida, as well as public schools PreK-12. I am knowledgable in different teaching methods, from Reggio Emelia and, Waldorf Education, to highly engaged step-by-step instruction at Disney affiliated schools. I also provide portfolio review and preparation for students seeking admission to art schools. I offer group classes for children with therapists assisting.

I also provide an EI(Emotional Intelligence) series of classes using popular characters to help students reflect on emotional awareness and social awareness along with character creation in cartooning and storyboarding.

I have taught diverse populations of students and adults, and am versatile and knowledgable in artists tools and materials in both 2D and 3D art.

FOR PARENTS OF YOUNGER ARTISTS:

I truly enjoy seeing children gain confidence with skills and like seeing children learn and grow in their understanding of art. What should parents ask? "How will this art experience impact my child's love of art? How will this experience impact my child's ability to think creatively, and create art? What thinking skills will my child develop as a result of this experience which they will use in other areas of their life/education? Is this teacher a good role model for my child?", "Will this teacher help my child to develop a love of learning?"

I enjoy seeing children grow and learn. I love seeing students create and love seeing the wonderful imagination of childhood.

* Masters Degree in Arts of Teaching (Pre-K - 12th grade) * Art Teacher in Florida Schools Pre K-12th grade certification, Science Mathematics, Senior Certification * Advanced Certification in 3D medical illustration, Apple-Teacher Certified ( includes teaching Digital Art and Illustration) * Graduate-level coursework in art therapy, Multi-lingual in English and Ukrainian. Broward and Palm Beach Schools Preschool fingerprinting, K-12, Virtus Training.

About the lesson

I provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere meeting each student where they are and guide them gently in learning skills and techniques. I create a positive atmosphere where they can feel successful and happy with their work.

My standard price includes local travel and does not include students ongoing art supplies, although I usually provide supplies for the first class. I do not offer a free first lesson.
