About Nifodora

Escape or learning, it's all fun at the Scarlet Macaw, an Artists Studio. Working with all ages, Preschool through Senior Citizen, Nifodora's (Niffee's) formal artistic training and years of creative entrepreneurial community service allows her to adapt to each individuals creative and artistic needs.

Niffee's multi-disciplinary experiences include a technical proficiency in all forms of painting and drawing; visual, conceptual and performance art; graphic and architectural design, as well as therapeutic art intervention.

I began by volunteering my time at a local Youth Center during my Freshman year in college.

Formal training from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with over 50 hours towards a Master's Degree in Art Therapy. Also attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio and Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Art Director: River Valley Senior Citizens Center, The Loft, and The Scarlet Macaw Community Art Center. Adjunct Faculty at Andrews University. Group Leader at the Berrien County Juvenile Center. Art Instructor/Specialist at: Krasl Art Center, Fairplain Academic Academy, Fairplain Northeast, Trinity Lutheran School, and Christ Lutheran School. Theraputic Art Instruction: Rush Presbyterian Hospital - Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, Michael Reese Hospital - Pediatric, Adolescent and Adult, both Inpatient and Outpatient.

About the lesson

Students are met individually. Their portfolios or current work is reviewed (if there is any.) Time is spent discussing the Student's creative goals. Then there is an overview of the materials that will be needed. This is followed by a brief basic artistic exercise that is geared specifically towards the Students own established goals.

All age groups, all needs.

On your creative journey try to learn from as many Artists as you can. With the Arts, you never stop learning, even from your own Students.

My fondest memory and proudest achievement is having produced the River Valley Elementary and the River Valley High School Art Exhibitions. These events displayed the creative works of over 500 Elementary, Middle and High School Students annually, for 12 years at the Scarlet Macaw Community Arts Center in Sawyer, Michigan.
