About Shiloh

I started with volunteering and am interested in one-on-one tutoring as a way of bringing people closer to art.

I am going into my senior year of undergraduate study in Visual Arts and have volunteered teaching art to children at a local public school. I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil and am mostly self taught. At the college level, I have taken Painting I and III, Figure Painting, Basic Drawing, and Sculpture I.

About the lesson

I like to do a pre-class assessment which explores the student's artistic interests. We would start the session with some warm-up drawings. Next, we'd do some drawing with references. After that, we would talk about the piece, thinking about what worked well and what could be worked on for next time.

Elementary and middle school students. I am open to all kinds of students.

Look for a teacher that encourages you to develop your own personal style. Make sure that you find the teacher interesting as a person. Look for someone who takes your growth as an artist seriously.

I went to the beach on a beautiful June day. While the water was too cold for me to get in, I walked six miles back and forth across the sand with some friends.

Details

FLAT RATE -> I charge $50 for an hour-long session. CANCELLATION FEES -> If a session is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled class time, I charge a $10 fee to make up for the time spent preparing materials before class. A session cancelled more than 24 hours in advance receives no charge.
