About Moriah

I am a high risk artist and recently had to quit my job as an acrylic painting instructor at muse paintbar because of rising COVID cases. I have taught painting in different facets for 5 years now, including via Zoom.

Upon graduation for my BFA, I was awarded best in 2D fine arts. A couple months later, I received a National award for painting from the Cambridge Art Association. Most recently, I received an international award for "representational excellence" in the Canadian Federation of Artist's AIRE show.

I have a love for painting, and I have experienced how it can change someone's life. I am passionate about connecting people with art, whether they are a beginner or advanced. I am particularly interested in the figure and currently am creating large scale figurative oil paintings. Although oil is my favorite, I also have a background in watercolor and acrylic. Currently I work with a differently abled artist as an art facilitator 5 days a week. I will only be teaching online during COVID-19.

I would love to work with you as an individual to help you achieve your artistic goals.

I love that I am able to share my passion for art every day, and that I am able to share tools of self-expression. It is truly amazing to see the growth in my students art, but also the growth in their confidence.

I recieved my BFA in Fine Arts from Lesley University durinng te 2020 pandemic, and upon graduation recieved the award for best in 2D artwork. Since then I have interned at local galleries, taught art classes online and in person, and have shown nationally and internationally.

About the lesson

We will begin by having a type of "consultation" via phone so I can get to know your background, what you are trying to achieve in your artistic practice, and your availability. At this time you can ask me all questions and concerns you might have, so you can feel out if I am the right instructor for you! During this time we will schedule our first lesson.

I with a rich diversity of students, both beginners and advanced, from ages 5-60+. I am a disibilities advocate and have taught differently abled individuals for 10 years now, and have a deep passion for giving these individuals the power of choice, autonomy, and expression through art.
