About Francisco
My class is for beginner students that are serious about learning the fundamentals of drawing and painting (acrylic, watercolor, oil painting). We will focus on portraits, landscapes, still life painting with the option of outdoor painting (pleinair). If you are interested in beginning your art practice and don't know where to start I am here to guide you.
Minimum of 2 hours per class.

What I enjoy about work is that it's therapeutic. When I'm painting I'm in my happy place. I'm able to think clearly and forget about my stresses. When I'm finished with a painting I get a great feeling of accomplishment. It is through my art that I'm able to talk about my community and it's hidden beauty.
I began my teaching career during my college undergrad 2010-2014 as a Teaching Assistant at Ryman Arts. I supported the Teaching Artist with class lessons, class critiques, and assisting in setting up still lives.
2014 Graduate with Bachelors of Fine Arts , California state University Long Beach.
2013 Painting Exchange student at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. China

We will beginning with required materials for drawing and painting assignments .
First studio lessons we will set up a still life and begin with graphite drawing. We will cover proportions , values , composition.
Next is oil painting. How to set up your studio, mixing colors , and layering of oil paints to build depth.
