About Francesca

As a local Fine Artist/Instructor with a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts, I have been producing art for more than 30 years and instructing for 15 years. I teach adult and children classes at the Morris Museum and Morris County Art Assoc., as well as enrichment classes for various schools in the area and private lessons. I enjoy teaching all ages the aspects of the creative process. My passion for art not only is prevalent through my own work but through instructing as well. I am able to teach students to use an array of materials and techniques. Fundamentals of line, value, form, perspective, composition and conceptual thinking are always part of the instructing process. I am proficient in acrylics, pastels and all drawing mediums as well as landscapes, still life, figure and wildlife.

I was unable to work painting murals and applied for a teaching position at the Somerset County Tech. Institute to teach art classes to pre-college and continuing ed. students and loved every minute of it.

I have produced art since I was a child and knew that it would be my life long passion. Upon graduating High School I enrolled in art classes at Du Cret School of Art, following enrolled in Ringling School of Art and Design and transferred and graduated from School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration. I freelanced for a few years then turned to painting murals which decorate many homes and businesses. My true passion is creating fine art and instructing which has been my main focus for the past 7 years.

About the lesson

I begin by finding out a little bit about a new student by asking questions like; Why are you interested in art? What would you like to get out of the lessons? as well as What is you art experience?

Children from 4 years of age to as young as 90

Make sure the instructor covers the fundamentals of line, form, value, composition and perspective.

I put together a student exhibit at the Morris Museum in their main lobby and the students were so proud of themselves and they recieved many compiments on their work.

Private lessons - $40.- per hour

Semi private - (2 - 3 students) - $25.- per hour

Adult Classes - (min. 4 students) - $20.- 2 hour class

Children Classes - ages 6 - 12 (min. 6 students) - $15.- 1 hour class
