About Sukarna
I am an experienced Art Teacher . I worked as an Art teacher with a company called Abrakadoodle which used to conduct classes in different mediums to Elementary kids in schools . I taught painting in almost all the mediums to kids from Pre K till 6th Grade . I also worked as a teacher in Art school( Katy Art school) which would cater to kids enrolled for courses in different mediums like Acrylics, Watercolors , Mixed Media . I would also design and plan my own lessons for my students and make it more fun , involving , and creative using different techniques . I have done summer camps with the same institute and have also been taking art classes from home. Teaching kids really helps me to extend my imagination to next level. And it gives me immense pleasure and pride that I have learnt a lot by teaching kids over past 3 years .
I also did Advanced Diploma in Art from India and have held exhibitions in group in India from 2009 till 2011. I have been doing painting, drawing and sketching for the past 10 years and started teaching from last 3 years . I also got selected as a Substitute Art Teacher in Texas in KatyISD, where I was based for last 4 years (2016 - 2019) . Then we had to relocate to Georgia this year in March.
Hopefully I will be able to start teaching again which gives me so much satisfaction. I got so much love in return from the kids that I really miss teaching them and I want to go back to teaching soon.
I love teaching kids. Over my past experience I have learned that each and every kid is special in his or her own way. What I absolutely love is Art helps the kids in improving their thinking, imagination, improving their emotional development, confidence and self belief. I know that some kids who are doing good in Art also do well in studies as it really boosts their morale to a great extent which works best for them in all other fields.
I just explored Art teacher jobs in internet and saw the opportunity to teach in Katy Art school . And then I also wosked for Abrakadoodle which I also came across in Internet on my own . Then I approached them and told them about my skills and experience . This was the starting point for me.
I have done Advanced Diploma in Art from India (2009 till 2011)
I have also done In studio painting and live model sketching during my learning days .
I have taken part in Exhibitions and Art camps and have seen various exhibitions which involved local and global artists. Seeing work from different artists itself gives a lot of experience.

By telling them we never do mistakes in Art we only experiment and learn by trying new things .in short get rid of all your fears of failing when it comes to doing Art.
Also last but not the least when we do something from heart it never feels like something we have to do forcefully but out of love and passion for that subject.
I have also worked with special students in after school classes. I would not like to give details here .

My daughter used to go to Sukerna for the art classes and she enjoyed it to the fullest. She learned fine drawing, painting, shading and sketching. Sukerna worked on the details and always made sure students have all the supplies required for the upcoming projects.
