About Janette

There are myths surrounding the ability to draw and paint that it is innate skill that if you don't have a natural inclination that path is not available to you.

The truth is most people stop trying to draw or paint around the age of 6 or 10 and never try again.

These are skills that can be learned and honed. The choice is up to the individual to put in the time and work.

If you have been drawing and painting for years and want to push yourself in a skill or have always wanted to give it a try.

I am illustrator and artist who has been working in the industry for years.

I will not be teaching formulaic concepts but how to harness your style like the traditional I was trainded when I recieved my art degree.

I have taught classes at a few art stores. I enjoy teaching people about perception and breaking through their symbol system so they can have confidence of seeing and drawing or painting what they see. I also enjoy conversations about taking that experience to the experience of extrapolation.

I have a Bachelors in Fine Art

I have worked as a Graphic Designer

I am an illustrator

I am a cartoonist.

I have done an artshow and I have done commissioned pieces

About the lesson

First step is to have a thirty minute meeting to access skills and interest student wants to work on. Then I develope a plan for personalized instruction.

Then set up a weekly hour session to work on a piece and lesson about perception and execution. There will be a sketch book for work on during the week. The project will be worked on during the week. Supplies will be listed as project requires.

Older students

Look for patience, willingness to listen and willingness to help you do the work to find the way to the art you want to do.

Details

$45.00 an hour. For one month with four meetings it is 180.00

If you have a friend and want to do this together I will take the price down to 35.00 each. For one month per person it will be 140.00 per person.
