About Lisa

Hi, I’m a fine artist that works in the style of realism. I am proficient in oils and charcoal, but have also used acrylics. I have taught large and small classes. My favorite subjects are portraits of people and pets. I have studied under nationally known, well recognized artists. My formal training is in graphic design, but I have pursued portraiture as my main focus in my art.

I enjoy creating art and helping others build the skills they need to express themselves artistically.

I have taught periodically as the opportunity arose.

I have had training at Edinboro University in graphic design, but also have taken several intensive workshops from nationally known artists in Philadelphia. I have also attended the Portrait Society of America Conference for the past 4 years.

I spent a year teaching art classes to students at a private school, grades K-12.

About the lesson

I will talk with the prospective student to asses what they wish to learn from me and what their skill level is.

The beginning class or two will focus on basic skills and techniques, and then we will progress according to the student’s ability.

Besides learning techniques, success in art is greatly dependant on how much practice one does. So it is very important to have as much hands-on creating time as possible. I will demonstrate when needed, but the class time will mostly be the student doing the artwork.
