About Briana

My name is Briana and I am currently a first year pharmacy student. I went to Paul VI High School and always loved learning. Ultimatley I chose science to be my future and finished my undergrad in 2 years, moving on to my graduate Pharm D program now at the age of 20. I love to tutor and have a love for learning, trying to make it as fun and easy to remember as possible. I like teaching with handwriting notes, using drawings and diagrams to supplement material and making up little sayings or tricks to help remember the material. I am very strong in most subjects except business/accounting in which I have very little to no experience. Obviously from my own life choices I love the sciences, especially biology, but I am also very strong in English, Social Studies and some maths.

I my studies during undergrad focused strongly on both biology and chemistry. I found that I love biology just a bit more than my chemistry but organic chemistry will always have a big place in my heart. In Pharmacy School I focus on biology, medical studies, chemistry, calculations, physiology, and of course pharmacy. I sped through my education with the help of my studying practices and hope to help other students to do the same.

About the lesson

My typical process is for the student to show me their notes and past tests and trying to understand where the miscomunication is when it comes to examinations. Everyone has their own learning style so if I can figure out what my student's style is I can work with them as efficiently as possible and hopfully inprove their grades very quickly while teaching them great studying skills for their future.

I would advise the students to find someone they can easily understand and someone who they know is open to be flexible in their teaching style in order to ensure the best outcome for their student. Me being 20 makes it easier for my students to be more comfortable with opening up and asking the questions they really need help with. It also, I believe, gives them hope (as opposed to being taught by someone 10+ years older than them who realisticially can't relate to what they're going through right now). Most students are more open to learn from those who are younger and drop the "I just can't do it" attitude.
