About Emilia

I am a high school physics and chemistry teacher, and I have a valid Marlyand teaching certificate. In my classroom, I often integrate and review math concepts to ensure that students understand how math works, and then apply it to science. I am comfortable in tutoring the following subjects:

-Algebra 1 & 2

-AP Calculus AB & BC

-Chemistry

-Physics

I enjoy working with students one-on-one and really helping them understand the topics, especially if this is a topic that they previously struggled with and didn't think they could understand. I like the challenge of breaking down subjects as small as they need to be for the student to comprehend them.

I am currently a high school Physics and Chemistry teacher and I have a valid Maryland teaching certificate.

About the lesson

I will assess where the student is in the content and what they need to learn to achieve their goals. If the goal is to keep up with a class they are currently taking, then I can supplement their teacher's assignments and re-explain concepts as necessary. If the goal is to prepare for a test, I can fill in any gaps in knowledge and review the content on the test.

I have worked with high school students from a variety of backgrounds. I've successfuly taught students with disabilities, students who speak English as a second language, and students that are going through a variety of difficult circumstances. I am able to adapt to any needs or accomodations that are necessary to help the student succeed.
