About Martin
I studied Teaching ESL in London and taught English for 1 year in Bolivia at the ‘Instituto Pan-Americano’ in La Paz and in Colombia for 1.5 years at a private University, for a Government institution and to private students. I am fluent in Spanish.
I graduated with a Degree in Horticulture from University College Writtle in 2000.
I have a lot of life experience. I have traveled around the world and lived in Canada, Bolivia and Colombia.
Beyond Horticulture I worked in a management role and ended up running a small charity based in Ross-on-Wye for 10 years. I managed small teams running small enterprises/projects run to offer opportunities to disadvantaged groups of people during much of that time. I also studied for a Post Graduate Certificate in Social Enterprise Management during this time which included marketing related modules.
I have set-up a small production and retail company with my wife producing bespoke organic soaps and associated equipment. I also have an engineering background.

I studied Teaching ESL in London and taught English for 1 year in Bolivia at the ‘Instituto Pan-Americano’ in La Paz and in Colombia for 1.5 years; at a private University, for Government institutions, for companies and to private students. I am fluent in Spanish. I helped students gain Master Degree placements in Europe by preparing them for specific entry required exam boards such as Cambridge. I also have corrected MSc students thesis written in English.
I engage students by doing interesting activities with them according to their interests and making learning as enjoyable as possible. I try to keep it real and use as much authentic material as I can.
My teaching is also to prepare students, for living in (not completely separate from) the culture of the English-speaking world. However, sharing the student's own culture and appreciating it is also very important.
