• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  From childhood, I have been very good when it comes to academics. So, no doubt, my grasp of any subject and its complexity is quite good. But honestly, it's not only the subject that attracts me the most, but it's the combination of a beautiful subject with a mind that is full of hunger to learn more and more. This is what attracted me the most every time to learn and to be learned.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My mom used to tell me, I am a very good teacher, when I used to teach my younger ones and classmates. Again, I used to get many compliments from my classmates during exam times, for them, I was their last time revision sheet. Then, my younger ones used to come to me for their doubts, which was not by compulsion but by choice. They always told me "listen!! Be a teacher in future, you will do wonders". That thing ignited the hunger for teaching, and still it is.

• How does your work help society?

  Of Course, it helps!! Is there any doubt? ha ha, joking. In our home, we have our househelp. She has one daughter, but she was not attending school because her mother was not able to afford it. But I told her, if she wants, she can send her to me for free home tuition. She became very happy, and the next day her daughter came along with her mother, and she used to be with me for the whole day, learning from very basic to her class stuff. Now, she has qualified for many olympiads and quizzes. Now, she is giving home tuition in her society. My motive for telling you this story is, a whole tree grows from a single seed. like this, a society can be affected by a single child's education.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  For me, I am the role model and hero of my story. Because I am the only author of my book, I have all the controls in my hands. I mean, that's the best part of life.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I love singing!!! I love to sing and listen to music. I even participated in many competitions for singing and got awarded.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  I actually have a very good one. One of my students used to be very shy and refused to read aloud. We started with tiny steps: a picture book, one simple sentence per day, and lots of praise for any attempt. I used a little reward chart and a silly story character who “came to class” each week. Within three months, she began reading short paragraphs aloud confidently and even volunteered to read in front of her class at school. Her mother later told me that the child began raising her hand in other subjects too, because she felt more confident. That transformation from “I can’t” to “I’ll try” is what teaching is all about for me.
