About JuneL

I am a currently a Bachelors of Health Sciences student at McMaster University, finishing my third year. I previously graduated and received the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2017. I love the sciences and mathematics, especially in the field of medicine. I have over 7 years of experience as a private tutor, either one on one or in small groups. After many years of tutoring, I have refined the way I teach and found ways of teaching that work the best. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and singing in choir! I am friendly, patient, and love working with youth. I believe learning is exciting and enjoyable, because there is so much to know and explore in this world!

About the lesson

In light of the quarantined situation, and students not being able to go to school, I am able to offer a comprehensive curriculum in the chosen subject. I have taught multiple classes following the Ontario curriculum, and will be able to teach virtually by writing lessons through share screen to ensure the experience is almost as if we are sitting side by side!

I believe students should first understand the basics of their subject and build from that point. I often start with understanding what level my student is a at, and then working our way to build their knowledge. I will teach my students using a combination of lecture notes and diagrams, and ensure they develop the important skill of note taking. I also believe practice is key to success, and will ensure that my student and I do large quantities of practice questions I create and what is found in their textbook. Not only will I teach students the material they need to know, I also try to install the ability to learn efficiently, and how to take notes effectively for review. I understand that each student learns in a different way, and I will customize my teaching to best suit their learning.

Most importantly, I believe it is important to build a relationship with my students! Becoming someone they are comfortable around makes the learning process easier and more enjoyable. I believe, with hard work, they will achieve whatever they aim for.
