About Jeffrey

Hi! I'm Jeffrey, a Pure and Applied Sciences graduate with several years of experience helping students strengthen their understanding, improve their grades, and gain confidence in problem-solving. I specialize in making complex ideas simple and showing students how to approach math with clarity instead of frustration. I have experience working privately and also for private schools in Montreal such as Selwyn House and St. Georges.

What I offer:

High school mathematics (algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, probability)

College preparation (CÉGEP math, SAT/ACT, university prerequisites)

Step-by-step breakdowns of difficult problems

Study strategies & test-taking skills

Chemistry and Physics

I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs. I realize that education isn't one-size-fits-all so I adapt the way the curriculum is given to the student based on where they are at!

About the lesson

Each lesson is designed to match the student’s current level and goals. I usually start by reviewing homework, assignments, or problem areas the student brings in, then move step-by-step through examples together. Once the student understands the process, I give them practice problems to solve independently, offering guidance and strategies along the way.

I emphasize understanding over memorization. I want students to know why a method works, not just how to repeat it. This builds confidence and makes it easier to apply knowledge to new problems.

Typical structure:

Quick review of previous material (5–10 min)

Explanation of today’s topic with clear examples (15–20 min)

Student practice with support (20–30 min)

Wrap-up with key takeaways & small homework challenge (5 min)

I adjust pacing based on the student’s needs — slower for difficult concepts, faster if the student is ready to move ahead.
